Book #3 of the 2015 Reading Challenge – Not That Kind Of Girl by Lena Dunham

Read a book written by someone under 30.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think there was a lot of hype surrounding Lena Dunham’s “Not That Kind Of Girl”. I remember seeing it for the first time in a Barnes & Noble in New York this past October, and the front cover with the bold, black and pink letters definitely caught my eye.

I got the Kindle version on Black Friday when the price was just a couple of bucks and, honestly, I’m glad I didn’t pay more.

I made it through the first part of the book (Dunham’s autobiography…what she’s learned in her 20+ years of being a girl), which is dedicated to the subject of sex. At first thought, it should make for a pretty interesting read, but the truth is that it’s just excruciating and horribly boring. I think the tries to be funny, but in my opinion she doesn’t quite succeed. Or maybe I just don’t get her.

I have to admit that I gave up after reading the first part. Sorry…I just don’t think it’s worth my time.
