Book #13 of the 2015 Reading Challenge – Fifth Avenue by Christopher Smith

Read a thriller. Read a trilogy.

Fifth Avenue is part 1 of the Fifth Avenue Series (boxed set), which I downloaded for FREE on to my Kindle some time ago (I can’t remember when). Now it’s priced at US$ 7.49 for Kindle. This novel is really good, the story catches on quickly, basically from the first couple of pages, and the novel is definitely a page-turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The plot has so many twists and turns that you’ll never see coming –  from the beginning and straight until the end.

There’s really not too much to write about this novel…not without giving too much away (which I won’t!).

It’s a high-intensity family drama, on one hand, and a story about revenge on the other. Secrets, lies, violence, sex, murder, money, etc. is thrown in for good measure and great entertainment. You follow a small group of super wealthy and extremely powerful people in New York City that are connected through family, business and a dark history. The story moves forward at a quick “movie-like” pace, and at no time during the length of it will you feel bored. I didn’t.

Stephen King said of the author: “Put me down as an enthusiastic Christopher Smith fan. Smith is a cultural genius.”

Well, if it’s good enough for SK, it’s good enough for me!

I look forward to reading the next two books in this series.
