It’s been a year of books and reading … and doing the 2015 Reading Challenge. What a challenge it’s been, indeed.

Although I’ve read books (some good, others bad), I haven’t read nearly as many as I wanted to or planned to. Reading 52 books in a year, has been a challenge that I have not been able to complete … sadly!

Here is a list of my TOP-3 excuses for NOT completing the challenge:

  1. I’m a slow reader
  2. I’ve got too much work to do
  3. I spend too much time watching TV and on Facebook (argh!)

On the positive side, I’ve bought and acquired so many books this past year that I have more than enough to read in 2016!!! I don’t need to buy another book in the next 365 days…although I KNOW that’s not going to happen. Books will be bought, books will be read.

I follow several readers on e.g. Instagram and I’m really impressed by those people out there who can read a book (or more) a week. How do they do that? How can I do that?

In 2015 I managed to read the following books:

  1. The Summons by John Grisham
  2. Fog Over Darjeeling by Mikael Bergstrand (in Danish)
  3. Not that Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham (uncompleted)
  4. Eat & Run by Scott Jurek
  5. A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams (a play)
  6. The Bible (uncompleted)
  7. Animal Farm by George Orwell
  8. The Jungle by Upton Sinclair
  9. The Kitchen God’s Wife by Amy Tan (uncompleted)
  10. Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (short stories)
  11. Mr. President: George Washington and the Making of the Nation’s Highest Office by Harlow Giles Unger
  12. Hope Diamond: The Legendary History of the Cursed Gem by Richard Kurin
  13. Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple
  14. Fifth Avenue by Christopher Smith
  15. The Puppet Masters by Robert Heinlein (in Danish)
  16. Den Afrikanske Jomfru by Helle Vincentz (in Danish)
  17. Ulvehjerter by Puk Damgård Andersen (in Danish)
  18. The Book of Dharma: Making Enlightened Choices by Simon Haas
  19. Running of the Bulls by Christopher Smith
  20. From Manhattan with Love by Christopher Smith (a novella)
  21. This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  22. 18 & 1/2 Minutes: Nixon’s Darkest Secrets Revealed by Ronald C. Meyer
  23. Effekten af Susan by Peter Høeg (in Danish)

My resolution for the new year, 2016?

  1. KEEP READING
  2. READ MORE BOOKS
  3. SPEND MORE TIME READING, LESS TIME E.G. FACEBOOKING
  4. READ ALL THE BOOKS THAT I ALREADY OWN or DON’T BUY MORE BOOKS
  5. ENJOY READING…

Happy New Year!!!!!
